Dead Peasant Journal of Art & Literature

Graphic Design

Kansas City MO 2020 - present

Dead Peasant is a non-profit that publishes an anthology of literary and visual arts that celebrates all creatives. In 2020 during the Covid lockdown a few friends and I started Dead Peasant. We saw a need for a creative space that did not discriminate entry with paywalls or credentials. A platform to elevate anyone with a voice looking to get their work out there. To solve this problem, we made our own space in the form of this journal. Since our creation we have published four issues, hosted a few open mics, and even ran a creative writing workshop.

My Role

I have many roles in Dead Peasant, but primarily work as a graphic designer and editor. I also review submissions and assist in organizing events.

Our Issues

Each issue features a unique theme that framed the journals aesthetic and submissions.

  1. Self titled, named after a corporate life insurance policy.

  2. Dog Vision, A collection of black, white, and greyscale work.

  3. DON’T LOOK, Striking and stunning works.

  4. Electric Scabs, All about the coming wave of artificial intelligence and its effect of the arts.
